Out Of School Project - Senior year
Indigo, a lone bounty hunter in a toxic situationship, is forced to threaten local farmers if they don’t give up their land to Eliza Astor, the most powerful woman in the west. After what feels like an endless amount of killings, Indigo is asked by a local farmer girl, Clementine, to teach her how to shoot and kill none other than Eliza Astor herself. But with the lack of Clementine’s resources, all she can offer is homemade Tamales. Indigo agrees, and they begin the journey to get to Eliza’s manor. Over the course of their journey, the two begin to fall in love, and Indigo must decide between letting herself fall in love and being free of her debt.
My project role for The Good, the Bad, and the Tamale (TGTBATT) is to be a creative strategist and social media manager. My job is to help organize the photos and videos University of Colorado, Denver Students take on film sets and turn them into digestible content for viewers on social media platforms while maintaining the vision of director Ayla Perez and producer Tom Joseph.
I manage a small advertisement team of two individuals, one of whom is an illustrator named Nevaeh Alvarado, who created all the illustrations for the TGTBATT film, and a copywriter named Jamie Baden, who helps make the lines of text you see on the social media platforms, ranging from developing the captions for the post to the bio.
I'm also spearheading different strategies and approaches to help bring more eyes to film and engagement to social media platforms. I also helped them think of ideas and content for the social media platforms, from taking photos on set to creating TikTok videos. Then, the advertisement team shapes the content to make their brand for that film. The advertisement then sticks within those borders when creating future posts.
The project aims to raise awareness and engagement for this senior thesis production at the University of Colorado Denver. It also aims to help them set up social media platforms and develop a plan to increase engagement and awareness of those platforms while assisting them in establishing a brand and helping people donate on the TGTBATT GoFundMe page (Current Donation: $2,300 raised - Goal: $3,000). The bonus goal for this project by the summer of 2025 is to help them get onto Amazon Prime short films with a community backing The Good, the Bad, and the Tamale (TGTBATT) .
